Wrong!

I need new glasses. My old ones, well, the baby broke on accident. But, I really, really need new glasses now. It's such a pain in the butt when my contacts get dry - I take them out and oh heavens, I can't see!

There are slim pickins for eyeglasses here. There are two optical retailers, one at Foster and one at Kadena. I looked around online and just couldn't find anything relatively cheap for what I wanted. Hey, it's my face, and if I'm going to subject it to glasses, they better look good on me! So.. anyway. I did find two pairs of glasses I really liked at the Foster Optical place. Really nice glasses - they come with a package of a warranty, scratch-resistant lenses, the whole shebang. Total about 22,000 yen which is about $185.

What does Brandon say? "Uh, no"

And since it was in the AM and I was too tired to argue, I just said "Whatever".

But he bought a $300 video camera a couple of weeks ago. Fair? I don't think so. Considering I actually NEED glasses, I don't think it's fair. I'm not actually ranting, because I know tomorrow morning when I say hey, I looked at the exchange rate and the glasses are less than $200, he'll say "oh, ok...".  It's not like we *can't* afford it.

My birthday is in a few days. Woop dee freakin' do. It's not like I'm getting the day off, or Brandon's getting the day off, or like it's even going to be special for me. It's just another day, another year to mark off. Sure, I'm getting some presents but eh. It doesn't excite me. Maybe because I know that nothing special is planned, like usual. I had to choose what to do for my 20th and 21st birthdays. My 20th bithday kicked ass and I was 6 months pregnant. My 21st birthday sucked. This one will just be another day and I know it :( I just want to feel special, for once. Is that too much to ask?
